Planting Info

  • Days to maturity: 71

  • Spring planting:

    • Direct seed into prepared soil during the last 2 weeks of April. Thin seedlings to 8-12 inches apart.

    • Start seeds inside in mid March, 6-8 weeks before planting outside. Transplant into prepared soil when risk of frost has passed, watering frequently to decrease transplant shock.

  • fall planting:

    • Start seeds inside in early summer for transplanting at the end of July.

  • Harvest heads when they form dense and firm buds (about 50-60 days after transplanting). Cut off central head and 6 inches of stem; this will allow the plants to produce smaller heads which can then be harvested again.
